Grow Greene County application on IRGC agenda

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will discuss at its meeting Jan. 9 in Waterloo its timeline for dealing with an application for a license for a casino in Jefferson. Five members of the Grow Greene County Gaming Commission plan to attend.

Wild Rose Jefferson and the Grow Greene County Gaming Commission filed an application for a license with the Racing and Gaming Commission Jan. 3. Following procedure, the Racing and Gaming Commission will hear a presentation from the Grow Greene County group at its March 6 meeting at Prairie Meadows. The IRGC will visit the county in May and hold a public meeting to receive comment before making a determination on the license. A decision on the Grow Greene County license is expected in June.
